Qi Wireless Charging Technology

The Wireless Power Consortium launched the Qi standard for Wireless Charging, which is the first standardization organization that promotes the advancement of wireless charging technology. Qi wireless charger comes with two main benefits which are convenience and universality. Firstly, any product with a Qi logo from different brands can be charged with it. Secondly, it overcomes the technical limitations of "universality" in wireless charging by allowing products such as smartphones, computers, and cameras to be charged with Qi wireless chargers, bringing possibilities for the vast application of wireless charging.

A complete Qi wireless charging system is composed of a base station and various mobile devices. The primary component of the base station is one or more transmitters that are responsible for supplying energy for reception. On the other hand, the mobile device is equipped with a receiver that not only receives electrical energy but also provides essential information to the transmitter. To achieve this, the transmitter is equipped with an energy conversion unit that efficiently converts electrical energy into wireless energy signals. Likewise, the receiver is equipped with an energy collection unit that can convert these wireless energy signals back into usable electrical energy.

The receiver plays a crucial role in transmitting this electrical energy to the intended load, such as a battery, while also being able to communicate its energy requirements to the transmitter. The transmitter, being aware of the receiver's needs, adjusts its energy transmission accordingly. This dynamic adaptation ensures that the receiver receives the required amount of electrical energy to power the load efficiently.

Overall, the Qi wireless charging system seamlessly transfers electrical energy wirelessly between the base station and mobile devices. Through the interplay of transmitters, receivers, energy conversion units, and energy collection units, this technology enables convenient and efficient charging solutions for various electronic devices.
